Rebecca Sullivan
PROVISIONAL PSYCHOLOGIST
BA(Psych); MProfPsych; MAAPi
Rebecca is a provisional psychologist with a background in community settings and over 20 years of experience as a meditation, mindfulness, and yoga teacher. She brings a trauma-sensitive lens to her work and has a particular interest in supporting adults presenting with issues such as anxiety, stress, low mood, relationship difficulties, parenting challenges, grief, and major life transitions.
Rebecca offers a warm, person-centred approach to therapy, focusing on creating a safe and welcoming space where clients feel supported in sharing whatever is present for them. She values working in collaboration with clients, shaping therapy to align with their goals and preferences while nurturing autonomy, self-awareness, and emotional insight. She has a deep appreciation for the ways people make meaning from their experiences and believes that even small shifts in perspective or behaviour can lead to meaningful and lasting change.
Rebecca draws on a range of evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), mindfulness-based interventions, and trauma-informed practices.
Rebecca has completed a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Professional Psychology. She is also a member of the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc (AAPi).
Rebecca is provisionally registered with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA) and is currently completing an internship program toward full registration, during which she is required to demonstrate psychological competencies under regular supervision. Rebecca is expected to achieve full registration by early 2027. Until this time, she will offer her clients a reduced session fee as they are not eligible to claim a Medicare rebate.
