Kane Hutchinson
PSYCHOLOGIST
BPsych(Hons); MProfPsych; MAAPi
Kane is a registered psychologist who supports children, adolescents, and adults across a range of mental health presentations. He works collaboratively with clients to gently explore their experiences and the factors that have shaped the way they think, feel, and relate to others.
Kane supports clients with concerns including anxiety, depression, complex trauma, stress, emotional dysregulation, low self esteem, behavioural challenges, social difficulties, relationship concerns, and addiction.
Kane brings a warm, empathic, and person-centred approach to therapy. He believes a strong therapeutic relationship is central to impactful work and creates a space where clients feel safe, seen, and understood. His authenticity, emotional attunement, and natural ability to build rapport support this process, alongside his advocacy for clients as they begin to make sense of their experiences and move toward meaningful change.
Kane has a particular interest in how early life experiences, upbringing, and attachment styles can shape long standing emotional and behavioural patterns. Rather than just addressing symptoms, he supports clients to understand these patterns as survival responses, and to develop more adaptive ways of coping that align with who they are and how they want to live.
Kane draws on evidence-based treatment modalities including Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). He is also undertaking training in Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) throughout 2026.
Kane is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA) and is a member of the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc (AAPi).
