Lisa McLeod

PSYCHOLOGIST

GradDip(App Psych); AdvDip(ASTFT); MAPS

Lisa is a registered psychologist with over 20 years of experience working with adolescents, parents, and adults. She supports people navigating anxiety, mood challenges, life transitions, trauma recovery, and those seeking practical tools for lasting wellbeing.

Lisa believes a strong, collaborative therapeutic relationship sits at the heart of meaningful therapy. She focuses on creating an authentic and compassionate space where people feel safe to explore their experiences. Her approach invites curiosity, supporting clients to recognise their strengths and reflect on the behavioural and cognitive patterns that may be shaping their current circumstances.

At the core of Lisa’s work is a focus on supporting clients to develop emotional regulation and create change that feels sustainable. Her approach is grounded in contentment rather than perfection, helping clients reconnect with their values and strengthen their sense of agency. From this place, meaning and purpose can emerge in ways that feel authentic.

Lisa is passionate about supporting adults through life transitions, including parenthood, career change, menopause, retirement, and experiences of grief and loss. She supports her clients to find balance and build confidence while navigating shifts in their sense of self. With many years of experience in organisational consultancy, coaching corporate professionals, Lisa brings a strong understanding of how workplace demands can affect individual wellbeing and family relationships.

Much of Lisa’s approach is informed by research in neuroscience, and she is trained in a variety of evidence-based treatment modalities, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Trauma-Focused CBT. She also integrates attachment informed and mindfulness-based practices into her work.

Bringing warmth, presence, and compassion to therapy, Lisa enjoys observing clients gain enhanced self-awareness and work through their challenges with clarity and confidence.

She has completed a Graduate Diploma in Applied Psychology and an Advanced Diploma of Applied Systems Theory and Family Therapy. Lisa is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA) and is a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS).
